I'll take those odds any day. Zenith, how typical, so assume I am a Democrat just because I say something bad about the Republicans. My only advice is to think outside the two party political box. Alesky, that is true, and I'm glad you mentioned the revolutionary war as well. All wars are wrong, I'll agree with that, however the revolutionary war was at least a fight against tyranny, rather than a fight against the innocent. I was reading another question and a republican stated that "for the next four years I will criticize obama like you did george bush". As much as this made me mad (Im democratic) I realized that that might actually be a good thing, I (along with many) vehemently criticized Bush and this (not me in general, more stating all the people who did) brought to light many problems with our government, which I think have been adressed (well sort of). A political party derives its identity from its core ideology. The Republican Party under George W. Bush and now under John McCain has abandoned its core conservative ideology in favor of center-left populist poll results. This has been in an effort to become a 'big tent' party that everyone could feel at home with. But in abandoning that core ideology, the Republican Party has lost its identity - and with it - the past two major federal elections. You cannot win an election by running solely "against" your opponent. You must be running "for" something - and that something MUST be the core ideology of your party.
