I've been hearing throughout the entire campaign about how much good Obama was going to do for race relations. I loved it personally. Then, on election night, I was nearly assaulted by 3 black men who were screaming at me "Obama 08 you [expletive] cracker!" while I was minding my own business putting oil in my car at a gas station. I have no bumper stickers or anything to indicate how I voted. When I told other people about this, I was shocked at the response. I was accused of making up the story for either attention or to discredit the Obama campaign! I was even accused of "white guilt". Will this administration do anything to open eyes to all forms of racism instead of only the PC ones? (more...)

I work for a small business (~30 of us), and my boss told all of us that if and when (hopefully) Obama wins, he will be forced to let some of us go. He has this crazy notion that his taxes are going to go up if Obama wins. He told us, that to be fair, he would be letting those who supported Obama go first. Now, I never told him I who I was voting for, but I do wear an Obama shirt quite often and I do have an Obama 08 bumper sticker on my car...do you think I will get the axe? I really can't get fired! I just spent $1500 on a hydroponics set up and a brand new snowboard...I will be hosed. :( Ok, assuming I do get fired, will it be easy to take him to court and prove it was because I supported Obama? Will the courts supply me with a free lawyer, or do I have to call them up myself and ask them to do it for free? I don't exactly have the most marvelous track record at the office (been late a few times, printed out some articles from a political/adult magazine on the work computer, and put a fire extinguisher in the baler) ....so he may just be using this as an excuse to oppress me further for simply just wanting to exercise my vote. I keep hearing about this bail out thing Obama passed to help people pay their credit cards and rent for their houses...Is there a form I have to fill out to get my money? How do I go about doing this? I'm really struggling :( (more...)

I never hear about McCain supporters physically attacking people for their political opinions, or keying and spraypainting Obama slogans on people's cars because they have a McCain bumper sticker, but I always hear about Obama supporters doing this. My neighbor had the words "OBAMA 08" spraypainted on his house. We also often hear the possibility of Obama supporters rioting if he isn't elected. Why is this? (more...)

My favorite bumper sticker produced during the 2008 race for Presidency reads "Doomed '08". Most people who I've heard voice an opinion on this Presidential election seem to be of that mindset. Generally speaking for this area we don't want McCain and we like Obama even less. If that isn't your stance it is certainly mine and I share it with MANY of my peers. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! There are other candidates running this race: Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate Ralph Nader is doing his thing as usual Cynthia McKinney (WHO IS BLACK AND A WOMAN! Why doesn't this get attention?) is running for the Green party I believe They say a vote for a third party candidate equates to a democratic vote - "a vote squandered". Fine. I think a message needs to be sent. The citizens of this country are largely disatisfied and we are doing NOTHING about it. At least this tells the polls, the media, and the parties that we need more options. The Democratic party isn't cutting it. Neither is the Republican party! If your sense of right and wrong won't allow you to vote for Obama or McCain don't settle for one of them as "the lesser of two evils" before exploring the other candidates! (more...)

I work for a school district in Northern california, I have a F Obama bumper sticker, (It doesn't actually say the word, just (F Obama 08) and I have a liberals suck sticker underneath it. Now the superintendent has emailed me and stated that it is offensive and needs to be removed. I am not a teacher, I am a network engineer contracted through the school district for networking, can they legally make me remove? Real advice only please, no political stuff. (more...)
